YKS Black Dragon Kung Fu and Kickboxing, Gloucester, UK

Morelands Trading Estate, Unit 42, Bristol Road, Gloucester GL1 5RZ

Head coach and chief instructor, Clive Sutherland, 3rd degree black belt

Teaching Kickboxing and Kung Fu in Gloucester, Chief Instructor, Clive Sutherland has over 30 years experience in Chinese Kickboxing and Kung Fu (we suspect it's more - but he's not giving his age away!) and is very knowledgeable in helping students develop physically and mentally at a pace suited to each individual. No experience or background is needed, Clive will start you off slowly in a beginners program and gradually get you into the YKS system of training safely. Classes are friendly, educational and new members are always welcome.

Yang Kuai Shou (fast/penetrating hands and feet) Black Dragon Chinese Kickboxing and Kung Fu is based on the principles of yielding, circular motion, and penetration. Today the techniques and philosophy are still taught as they were in ancient times, although the system has adjusted to the physical need of modern lifestyles. Most of all, this mysterious art is designed to develop individual character, mental strength, integrity, and respect for others.

YKS Black Dragon offers a full grading system in kickboxing and kung fu classes incorporating light and full-contact training, full body fitness, Chi na, throws, takedowns, weapons training, pressure points, dynamic tension. and self defence techniques. As well as kickboxing and kung fu, YKS also offers in Yang style Tai Chi, and classes in bag and pad work, Children and adults alike are always welcome (separate classes).  Clive is assisted by three great instructors who have been with him for years: Shane Bishop, Tash Andrews and Kevin Baker.

For most of us at Yellow Mountain this is where our martial arts training really took off (despite the post-workout kebabs in Stroud!) and Clive's classes are some of the best we've experienced. This is THE martial arts club in Gloucester. If you're in the area visit YKS Black Dragon Chinese Kung Fu and Kickboxing at www.yksblackdragon.co.uk
